Bagden Hall – with Sarah and Richard
Near Huddersfield is Bagden Hall, and this is where we kick off our 2018 weddings, and to be honest, we couldn’t be happier with that!
We love this place for all sorts of reasons (last wedding we did here we returned home with 3 cats!), and apart from the small challenge of where to do large group shots if the weather is against you (like every venue), it’s spot on in every way!
Having known the bride as a friend for many years, it was to see her being a bride …. and being slightly nervous and a bit more quiet for once! The rain poured and the Prosecco flowed… how it should be… just without the rain eh!!
Rich, our groom, arrived in plenty of time, and after a quick trip to the bar, he went to start changing.
Emerging like Mr Ben from his changing room, we had a ready groom in no time at all! Let the show begin!
Button holes and ties. Tick. The steady stream of guests arriving at Bagden Hall helped build the excitement, and before we knew it, we were waiting patiently for the bride to arrive… and we waited, and we waited… for nearly 20 minutes!
All we could hear was laughter from the other side of the door! I’ll spare the details here, but if you follow the ILTO Facebook page, this is where my idea of quite of the wedding came from! Basically it involved someone falling down the stairs and a perfectly timed comment by somebody else! (check out the back fat comment on the page if you haven’t seen it!)
Anyway, eventually most of them had stopped laughing… not the bride though, as she laughed all the way down the aisle!
He did. She Did. They did. Let the celebrating commence! (at this point, a break in the weather would have been nice, but, it’s Yorkshire, so what can you do!!)
Formals dispensed quickly (as we do, as nobody likes this but do they!) Speeches. Food and booze for all ….. and THEN we get a break from the rain!
We legged it outside for 20 minutes and got as many shots as we could ….. as it started raining again! God’s Own County? You’d think he’d sort his weather out if it is wouldn’t you! S’ok though, I’ve written him a strongly worded email, so we should be ok for the rest of the year now! Lol!
I can’t think of a better way to start 2018 – a Bagden Hall wedding with friends!
