Cookridge Hall – finally we have a wedding to add to our list of venues, and it’s thanks to Kara & Chris!
A Cookridge Hall Wedding can be held in this a large sprawling and gorgeous venue on the out skirts of Leeds. Before I get into that, where do I start with this wedding? I can’t help feeling we were lulled into a false sense of security, with Chris the groom – not Kara the bride, she was ace!
Let me explain! The day started out as perfect as can be! The weather was spot on, and Kara was getting ready at Oulton Hall, in the biggest room there, with the 5 bridesmaids. Plenty of space for everyone, including the wedding photographers. Even when Josh, the videographer arrived (and we really like Josh, the first time we’ve ever said in 6 years about a videographer, and we’re definitely working with him again!) there was plenty of space.
Once I’d got the detailed shots of the shoes and other shiny things, Josh and I headed over to see what Chris was up to, leaving Clare to get all the key shots with Kara and the girls.
Walking into the world’s smallest room at the Holiday Inn, it was chaos! I’ve no idea how many people were in there trying to get ready, and my god was it warm, but from the second we got there, I don’t think we stopped laughing all day.
Buttonholes sorted, groomsmen and groom sorted, we left and headed for the church and the swarms of greenfly (seems to be a theme this year for us eh!).
People arrived, 3 “I will’s” later, we emerged into the blaring sun.
Couple of formals done, and off for the second part of this Cookridge Hall Wedding.
With beers and a massive inflatable slide waiting for us, it didn’t take long for the shenanigans to start. Formals done, confetti and then straight on to the groomsmen all proudly dropping their trousers to show off their personalised boxers! … this was the start of the false sense of security with Chris!
You see, on the pre-wedding shoot, he was slightly nervous, polite and very conscious of how he came across on camera. Doting father to 2 lovely boys, a considerate and very loving fiancé to Kara. We liked this person. When you add in the actual wedding day, along with friends, family and alcohol, you get a very different Chris! We absolutely LOVED this version!
Kara doesn’t drink, so she was the elegant bride all day, as you’d expect, while Chris bounced of the walls, danced on tables, slid down slides, drank anything in site and enjoyed his day to the absolute maximum! Exactly how it should be, so we salute you Mr. Thompson/Gav/Chris.
I think I’m going to leave it there, because even to my ears, this could sound like the start of a man crush, but it’s not, as it’s Clare typing all of this out, so it’s not!
Tell you what, just look at the pictures and enjoy them as much as we, and Chris and Kara do eh!
Now pass me a pen please … Cookridge Hall Wedding …. tick!
(Call me Chris, you have my number …. said Clare! #cough #awkward)
