Leeds Town Hall wedding photographer – with Nic and Andy
I’ve been a Leeds wedding photographer for 6 years now with ILTO, and we know when people are meant to be together, and Nic and Andy, or Nic and Baum as they’re known to us, and this applies to this couple 100%
We’ve known both Andy and Nic for over 10 years, but that was in our old world, when I was a slim, charming and witty office based type bloke …. as opposed to now, where I’m a fat, charming and witty Leeds Wedding Photographer!!
It was a bit strange for us not doing any prep shots, for either the bride or groom, but for once we were grateful. The Tour de Yorkshire was just around the corner from us, so rolling roads blocks and traffic jams were the order of the day!
We left in plenty of time and headed straight for the Town Hall in Leeds, which is an awesome building. After watching Andy trying to give directions over the phone to a wayward Sheila …. by pointing at it and saying “It’s Here!”, we knew that regardless of their bride and groom status, they were still going to be Nic and Baum all day.
Before long, we all shuffled inside, as Nic had arrived in a double decker green vintage bus. Quick hello to the wonderful registrar (she really was awesome, and nearly every other registrar we’ve ever met could learn a thing or 2 from this one!)m and things got under way.
Clare and I really can’t remember a ceremony where it seemed every word carried such weight and importance. All ceremonies are great, don’t get me wrong, but knowing the back story of the bride and groom, this one had extra meaning.
Bish, bash, bosh – pictures, 4 litres of confetti and back on the bus.
Back to Chateaux Furbaum, after a quick pit stop to say hello to the shirtless Tigger and his paint brush. Bubbles, a Blessing by the family Priest, speeches, DHL delivery and Strawberries from Gibraltar (thanks Sheila, they really were awesome!).
Off to a local park for some one-to-one close up stuff, and I think we’ll have the Leeds Sky line as a nice back drop thank you!
Quick stroll to the Reception and a wonderfully decorated room – complete with over 200 guests! A talented Balloon bloke, and Rich Reynolds (an awesome Magician!) Pork Pie cake pictures and first dance done, we put the cameras down and caught up with many old friends …. who many of them asked “so you do this now? You’re a Leeds Wedding Photographer, like a proper one, a real wedding photographer? Just Leeds?” …. nope! We go everywhere! … and I forgot to mention the award winning bit too, but hey!
Top day. Top couple. Top guests. Knackered back and a big smile on my face …. and Clare too of course! Viva La Furbaum’s!
